Should we be concerned about mental health?
There is one thing I have realised since having my little boy, and that is ‘if someone looks happy, truth is, inside their head could be a completely different story’
After having my little boy, I started to fall into post natal depression. You can read about that here.
Many people around me have either had depression or fall very close to getting it. I feel as I am sure other people do too that mental health awareness month is very important to spread the word about how invisible it is.
How can you tell if they have depression?
The truth is, you can’t.
Is there anyway I can help someone with a mental health condition?
The simple answer is yes.
☆ You can be there for them, support and talk to them
☆ If that isn’t an option, there are many referral routes to go down
☆ Try and persuade them to visit their GP
☆ Socialisation can make a huge difference and take away the feeling of loneliness
It is so important to try and stay positive
There are many things in life that will bring a negative impact to us. If we always resolve back to a bad habit to deal with these situations, they can have a huge impact on our body but also our mental health.
Try and find a new creative, positive way where you can overcome these negative situations. Looking at life in a completely different aspect can help and sometimes make you realise how lucky you really are.
Breaking habits is just a start, speaking to someone is a great step too.
Even if you haven’t got a mental health condition, having someone to speak to about anything will make you feel better as it is the support needed to get us through.
